Lately, a large topic on my mind has been the blessings of the temple. I know many of us go to the temple, feel peace, know we did some good in the world, and then go back to our daily lives. However, I am more prone to think the blessings of the temple are a much bigger deal than we think they are. Check this out:
"We have given of our substance to build a house to thy name,
that the Son of Man might have a place to
manifest himself to his people...
...and that all people who shall enter upon the threshold of the Lord's
house may feel thy power and feel constrained to acknowledge
that thou hast sanctified it...
...that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power...
and thine angels have charge over them...that no
weapon formed against them shall prosper...
...and the fame of this house shall spread to foreign lands; and this is the beginning of
the blessing which shall be poured out..."
(Selections from Doctrine and Covenants 109-110)
How cool is that? Oh, and if you're wondering if you're on the right path of life or not, read the next section...111. Written in my scriptures, at the top in bold red it reads, "Comfort about transfers." It's scary to go to a new phase of life and really have no idea how you're going to fit in.
Anyway, back to the temple. We know that God cannot lie, or He would cease to be God. All of these things literally are yours...if you hold up your end of the deal. If you don't have a recommend either from past mistakes or you're just not a member of this church, I would recommend getting on the ball. This is what sets us apart as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. No one else can promise these things besides the One who our church is named after, with the correct authority from Him. We've got it. You can't miss out on this!
